Jef Stevens is a multi-talented artist and award-winning audio engineer and producer with extensive experience in multimedia, marketing and print design. He lives in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area, and works closely with clients to create an extraordinary and memorable vision. His unique design and promotional skills have caught the attention of a wide variety of people, and his graphic work has appeared on many CD covers, concert and event posters, and promotional campaigns. His logo designs have been used on many nationally distributed product lines. Having gone to high school with John and Tom Knoll, the original creators of the Photoshop software, Jef was one of the first few dozen people in the world to use Photoshop, and since then he has continued to flex his graphic skills primarily using that software for his designs. He also has an interest in designing three-dimensional Mandelbrot fractals using applications such as Mandelbulb 3D and Mandelbulber.

He has also had the great good fortune to have worked in the music business for many years. He got his start in music while he was a teen when he started playing bass guitar and soon found himself in demand and was playing with many bands, including Blackfoot (led by Lynnrd Skynnrd guitarist Rick Medlocke). Jef Stevens has played and worked with musical acts such as U2, Bo Diddley, Patti Smith, George Clinton and members of Parliament-Funkadelic, Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, The Pixies, Lonnie Brooks, Sun Ra, the Funk Brothers, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra, Los Lobos and many others. He also worked at several major festivals including the Detroit-Montreux Jazz Festival, and at many other concerts in Hart Plaza in Detroit including the Gospel Festival, Blues Festival, International Freedom festival, and Pope John Paul II’s visit to Detroit. Jef Stevens has also produced, engineered and mastered hundreds of music projects, and has won three Detroit Music awards for his production skills. Jef also has worked for many years as a sound engineer for concerts and live events, and has worked as a live sound engineer for several national touring acts. He has taken private bass guitar lessons with Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, and legendary bassist Carol Kaye, of “The Wrecking Crew” and Motown fame.

Having a strong interest in tech things, such as web applications and design, Jef is also an award-winning web developer, and has worked since 2003 as a designer for add-ons for vBulletin web forum software, and is responsible for installing and maintaining forums for some of the most visited web sites on the internet. Jef has also created and maintained several dozen Kodi/XBMC video plugins. His knowledge of SEO (search engine optimization) has allowed many web sites to earn a page one ranking on Google. He has worked for several years as a high level Wikipedia editor (bureaucrat ranking), and he has designed several apps for Android and iOS. Jef has also worked as a mentor in the alt.config Usenet newsgroup, helping people to properly create Usenet discussion groups by implementing generally agreed upon guidelines in the .alt newsgroup hierarchy; at one time he had written more control messages to create newsgroups than any other person in the world. In addition, Jef has comprehensive knowledge of and experience with smart card development.

Jef also has a wide variety of other passions, including an extensive knowledge and experience in creating essential oils from organic plant materials, and he has developed his own line of highly-effective salves and lotions. Jef has also been a professional magician with a strong interest in magic since he was only nine years old. He is a proud father, and is also known for his political and social activism.
